Discover Your Own Path

What do you want to be when you grow up? Were you asked this as a young child, a young adult, or even as a working person? What happens to people after high school? What kind of career counseling did you receive? There are many twists and turns on the road to a career. There are even detours in the road and new decisions that have to be made. Fourteen people from ages 27 to 85 share their career journeys. The interview format lends itself to a clearer understanding of the winding road to a career. There are many challenges, including family, environmental, cultural, ethnic, and practical challenges like income, timing, and just being in the right place at the right time. The stories, the advice, and the lessons learned are central to decisions that you will make on your road.

This book is targeted at all those who are searching for their “dream” career at any age and stage in life. The book is divided into 2 sections: the first one contains interviews and the second part is a workbook with personal questions and evaluations that will help the reader understand the challenges and goals to create his/her own career journey. It is never too early or too late to start on the Road Less Traveled.
